Our involvement with Vanarama helped to set owner and CEO, Andy Alderson on course to building the UK’s most successful vehicle brokerage firm, selling over 120,000 vehicles. Through its totally contactless process online its website attracts over 1 million visits per month.
Andy’s investment in the Vanarama brand lead to its sale in March 2022 to Auto Trader for an impressive £200m, allowing him to continue with the business’ planned growth and expansion.
Our first brief was to carry out a complete rebranding exercise for Vanarama, creating a suite of group logotypes, a new website and branded collateral.
Over the years we have been briefed on many projects, including their brand refresh, digital solutions, sub brands and the interior and signage design of their environments – including their national headquarters.
Vanarama has invested significantly in its brand and technology capability, creating a unique platform for selling cars and vans contactlessly, 24 hours per day and brokering deals between brands, dealers and the consumer from which they take their cut.
Our strategy for Vanarama was to clearly differentiate them from the thousands of other vehicle leasing operations with significantly recognisable messaging and positioning.
The biggest opportunity occurred when we were commissioned to lead a refurbishment project to transform an existing building in Hemel Hempstead into an office fit for the 21st century.
We led the design of the building working closely with Andy and then project managing the entire build and £3 million conversion to produce a flagship building to match the excellence of their customer facing technology platform.

Notwithstanding the structural and ecological improvements required to create an excellent 21st Century building, we also had to cater for an exponential growth in staff and the services and products that we offer.
I couldn’t think of a better company to work with to ensure that this happened than Yellowyoyo, who have been instrumental in our brand’s development and with whom we have had a fantastic working relationship since 2013.
