Women Leaders UK Awards / Doubletree Hilton MK – 12.06.25
Last week, I was in a very special room. One full of women leading businesses, driving change and supporting others as they do it. No egos or jostling, just people doing good work, showing up for each other and taking a moment to acknowledge it.
What stood out wasn’t the formality or the ceremony, but the intent. Warmth, mutual respect and a palpable sense of shared purpose.
I was nominated in the Professional Services category, alongside two formidable women. And though I didn’t bring home the award, it was a real honour to have been a finalist. I’m so proud of that. And the fact that my category buddies and I are arranging lunch to celebrate together soon. That speaks volumes.
I think the value of community in business is often overlooked. We focus on strategy, growth and resilience, but we don’t always talk about the people around us. The ones who put your name forward, send you the right message at the right time, or challenge your thinking when it needs it.
Recognition doesn’t have to be loud or polished to matter. Sometimes it’s just about stopping to say “I see what you’re doing, it’s brilliant and making a difference…”
